"Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston," the Morning Show star begins her caption.

John Aniston is perhaps best known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on the NBC soap opera, Days of Our Lives. Aniston first portrayed Kiriakis back in July of 1985, and had played the role up until his death.

In total, he has starred in 3,782 episodes of the show - an accomplishment that earned him the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this year.

Back in 2017, Aniston also scooped the Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the legendary role.

Born Yannis Anastassakis on the Greek island of Crete in 1933, Aniston moved to the United States with his family when he was just two years old. Upon their arrival, his father - Antonios Anastassakis - anglicized the family’s names before eventually making their home in Chester, Pennsylvania.

As well as his legendary role in Days of Our Lives, Aniston will also be remembered for his roles on popular shows such as Diagnosis Murder, Star Trek: Voyager, The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, and Mad Men.
