Matthew Perry's family has issued a statement following the death of the beloved actor.
Yesterday, it was confirmed that the beloved Friends star had died at the age of 54 after being found by first responders unresponsive at his Los Angeles home.
The Los Angeles Times reports that authorities arrived at the actor's home at around 4:00PM on Saturday (October 28), where Perry was found unresponsive in a hot tub. He was later declared dead.
As of this writing, law enforcement sources have not provided a cause of death for Perry, but informed the LA Times that no drugs were found at the scene. Additionally, it is believed that no foul play was involved in the star's passing.
Now, in a brief but heart-aching statement, the star's family has paid tribute to Perry, and thanked his fans for their overwhelming support.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Perry's "heartbroken" family have since issued the following statement, remembering Perry: "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.
"Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."
Perry's blended family consisted of his mom - Suzanne Morrison - and dad - actor John Bennett Perry - as well as his two step-parents and five step-siblings.
Perry rose to fame for his longtime role as Chandler Bing in one of the most successful TV series of all time, alongside Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and Courteney Cox.
The cherished sitcom - which told the story of six 20-somethings living in New York City - ran for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004, and turned its young cast into international household names.
Warner Bros., the studio that produced Friends, confirmed the iconic comedic actor's tragic passing in a statement to the LA Times that read: "We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry."
"Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family," they continued. "The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans."
NBC, which aired the series for all 10 seasons, penned a heartfelt statement to the publication, writing: "We are incredibly saddened by the too soon passing of Matthew Perry."
"He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch-perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations," they concluded.
