Stranger Things fans are gushing on social media after realizing one of Millie Bobby Brown's co-stars officiated her wedding.

The 20-year-old actress finally shared photos from her stunning wedding to 22-year-old model Jake Bongiovi after the young couple tied the knot back in May.

Bongiovi also took to Instagram to share a number of photos from the special day - and fans of the hit Netflix sci-fi series were shocked to see who officiated the wedding.

Captioning his post, "forever and always, your husband", fans may have adored Brown's gorgeous gown and Bongiovi's handsome suit - but it was the man at the alter who has left fans emotions.

Yes, the couple were actually married by Brown's co-star Matthew Modine.

Fans of the show will recognize Modine as Dr. Martin Brenner - the mysterious government scientist who has a complex relationship with Brown's telekinetic heroine, Eleven, who refers to him as "Papa".

In a previous interview earlier this year, he revealed: "I have one of those licenses to get people married and Millie thought it’d be great and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife."

And seeing him up at the alter with Brown got all the emotions stirring, with one fan commenting: "PAPA WAS YOUR OFFICIANT???"

A second added: "Not Matthew officiating the wedding I’m gonna sob."

"Matthew marrying you guys," a third added. "This is so special."

Modine even took to the comments of the 22-year-old's post himself to joke around with the fans, writing: "Amazing. Who’s the old guy with a beard??"

The 65-year-old actor clearly treasures his relationship with Brown, and took to Instagram himself earlier this week to share his thoughts as her "Papa".

Sharing a photo of his wrist adorned with a bracelet reading "PAPA", he included the touching quote: "'People who deserve friendship are people who show reason to be loved.

"They’re a rare breed, but then everything remarkable is rare; the hardest thing to find is a perfect specimen of its type. Most people don’t see the good in a relationship, unless it is profitable, they pick friends the same way they pick cattle – fostering the ones they think will bring the greatest return on investment.

"As a result, they miss out on the beautiful and natural friendship that is sought in and for itself. They have no experience of the extraordinary power of this type of friendship. For each person loves himself, not in order to make some profit from his affection, but because he is dear to himself on his own.

"Unless the same feeling is transferred to friendship, we will never find a true friend. For a friend is, in effect, another self.'"

What a touching inclusion for what looks like an amazing day. Congratulations once again to the happy couple!
