The final messages of the 22-year-old Buffalo woman who died while trapped in her car during a winter storm have been revealed.
Anndel Taylor became trapped in her vehicle due to the adverse weather conditions in the northeastern US while driving home from work on December 23.
Taylor, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, had moved to Buffalo in order to care for her father who is in need of dialysis treatments, per the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old filmed the environment she found herself in and sent it to her family just after midnight on Christmas eve, showing a van also stranded in the snow.
Watch one of Taylor's final videos below:Her mother, Wanda Brown Steele, recently spoke to the New York Post about how the night of her daughter's passing transpired.
Brown Steele said that it was Taylor's intention to sleep in her car during the night and walk home from her vehicle the following day. It was the following morning that concerns grew when Taylor was not responding to messages or calls but her phone was still being tracked to her car.
A family friend spotted the car but believed nobody to be inside. On the third time venturing out, he smashed the window to find Taylor passed away and sitting in a peaceful position, as her mother stated.
It is believed she passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning due to the engine being left on for warmth as Taylor slept, and the snow covering the exhaust. However, no cause of death has been revealed at this time.
Messages shared between Taylor and her family during the night she got stranded have now been revealed by her sister Tomeshia in a touching TikTok video.
The message chain between Taylor and her family started with her explaining that she was "stuck in a f***ing blizzard" and three hours later she added: "The car I'm driving, muffler damn near on the ground already, then snow up to the tires... I'm mad irritated."
"I've been in and out shoveling, just called the fire department and they're sending a cop to me. I don't know how long that's gunna [sic] take," Taylor continued.
After a few hours of back and forth, Taylor conceded: "It looks like I'm going to sleep here. I don't know how long this gas will last. I'm livid bro my door damn near covered."
She explained that authorities had said they had attempted to get to here, but they also got stuck on the way. Her sister, unamused by this, was in disbelief that they were unprepared in "a state known for it."
Taylor continued: "They don't gaf (give a f**k) man. I'm talking to them now so I know how to go about the night... If the car stay running in the morning I'm going to walk, snow at my thighs."
Her final message was an image where she stated that the snow had reached her stomach line.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money to bring Taylor's body home to her family in North Carolina.
Our thoughts remain with those affected by this tragedy.
