An angry member of the King's Guard was not very pleased with a tourist who tried to grab his horse's reins twice.
In a video shared on TikTok - by an account that goes by the handle @kingshorseuk - a woman donning a white coat, skirt, and black boots is seen smiling as she tries to get a picture with the horse.
Looking towards the person behind the camera, the young woman - who is presumably a tourist - makes her first attempt to hold on to the animal's reins.
However, this provokes an angry response from the soldier dressed in red, who screams "Get off the reins!" - scaring the woman.
Watch the moment below:The shouting from the King's Guard was also enough to send another woman next to the young tourist away.
However, the fearless one who initially tried grabbing the horse's reins put on a brave face and made another attempt to once again grab the horse.
Once again, the furious soldier turned his head for a second time and shouted "Get off!" even louder than the first time. The second warning finally startled the woman away.
Upon seeing the video - which has amassed 8.4 million views and 772.9K likes - many users shared their responses as one person wrote: "Bro why did you try to touch them again like he said get off the reins."
Another user said: "The fact she went and grabbed the reins again."
A third chimed in and commented: "She reacted just like my 4yr old son when I tell him not to do something."
A fourth person asked: "Does [she] even know what reins do?"
This tourist is not the first to be caught off guard by royal guardsmen. In December 2021, a child was reportedly stomped on by a member of the Coldstream Guards who was on duty at the Tower of London.
A spokesperson from the Tower posted a statement about the incident, calling it "an unfortunate accident," and adding that the soldier checked on the child’s family, per Metro.
Generally, there are two guards who patrol the entrance to Horse Guards on a daily basis and they swap every hour between 10:00AM and 4:00PM.
According to the outlet, most people come to watch the Changing of the King’s Life Guard event, which takes place at 11:00AM on weekdays.
