A huge fight broke out at Disney World yesterday after two families started arguing in line.
Tensions reached boiling point at the Orlando, Florida theme park, between Fantasy Faire and Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland, when the rival groups were queuing for a performance at Mickey's PhilharMagic theatre.
According to a report by the New York Post, the brawl turned so nasty that it landed at least one man in the hospital.
Disney blog 'Walt Disney World News Today' reports that it all started when a family member temporarily left the line so that she could retrieve her phone from where she had accidentally left it.
As she tried to rejoin her family in the queue, another family - dressed identically in matching red shorts and white t-shirts - was not happy about it.
Their attempts to block the woman from entering the line eventually led to a confrontation with the woman's family, who told the matching group: "We don’t appreciate you guys pushing my younger sister."
Her words triggered a shouting match, which promptly descended into a massive physical fight, with family members from both sides viciously attacking each other outside the theatre.
In video footage of the moment taken by shocked bystanders, people can be seen running for cover and protecting their children from the fracas as the rival families brawl in the street.
Per the Disney blog, the fight was eventually broken up by security and police officers who took them to the park's security office. While it is not yet known whether either family will press charges, it's safe to say the melee had a very nasty outcome, with Orange County Sheriffs, the Reedy Creek Fire Department, and paramedics all called to the scene.
One man had such a large gash on his chin that he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, while another came out of the fracas with cuts and bruises.
Meanwhile, the red short-wearing family allegedly "stole or broke several personal items belonging to their opponents including mobile phones and designer clothes."
Per Mail Online, the frequency of violent outbursts at Disney parks has shot up since the Covid-19 pandemic, with over half a dozen reported this year alone.
