A viral video has divided the internet after it showed a young McDonald's worker quitting on the spot after being asked to clean a sink full of dishes.

Fionn McCallum was working a shift at the popular fast-food chain in New Zealand, which has 10,000 staff members and 170 restaurants across the country, per the Daily Mail.

We've all had days where the slightest inconvenience has made us want to defiantly walk out of work, but the majority of us have never actually acted on these impulses.

Fionn decided to do just that after a sink full of dishes seemed to be a job too far for him, and he documented his protest on TikTok.

During the video, the young worker shows us the washing that needs doing, which does seem like quite the task. "Hell no, I am not cleaning that, I ain't cleaning that," he said whilst expressing his distaste for the task at hand.

He then confidently walks into his manager's office before declaring: "Actually, I quit," which is met by an angry outburst from his boss, who demands that he "get back here" whilst waving her arms in exasperation.

Another colleague of Fionn's can be heard saying: "Oh, f*** that". When the protestor reaches the door, he turns with a smile on his face and exclaims: "I quit, I'm leaving Maccas. See you on the flip side b*****!"

His actions have become a point of contention with viewers of the video, which has amassed 3.1 million views on TikTok at the time of writing.

Some people supported him, though, with one saying: "Main character moment? " and another adding: "You dropped this 👑."

Other users have not taken too kindly to the young man's actions. A third person said: "Bro, it’s a fast food restaurant did you expect there to not be that many dishes?" and a fourth added: "That’s literally nothing compared to some other cleaning jobs 😂😂😂."
