The representatives of Madeleine McCann's parents have spoken out after the woman who claimed to be their daughter received DNA test results that confirmed she isn't the missing British girl.

The story gripped the world as 21-year-old Julia Wendell - also known as Julia Faustyna or Julia Wandelt - first announced that she believed herself to be Maddie.

The young British girl went missing on May 3, 2007, while on vacation with her parents, Kate and Gerry, as the pair left her unattended to sleep as they dined at a nearby restaurant.

Julia recently traveled from Poland to the US where she appeared on Dr. Phil to double down on her claims as she awaited the all-important DNA test results.

Despite her beliefs and physical similarities with the young British girl such as a distinctive dark mark on their iris known as coloboma as well as a dimple on the left cheek, the tests concluded that Julia is not Maddie.

Kate and Gerry have campaigned tirelessly since the disappearance of their daughter. A Facebook page for the Official Find Madeleine McCann Campaign was set up to share updates and answer questions from the general public regarding the search.

The website affiliated with the Facebook page states that Kate and Gerry are two of several directors on the campaign.

After Julia received her DNA test results, a woman asked in the comments of a post on the Facebook page: "Is there any chance of giving us an update? There has been a lot of media about a girl claiming to be Maddie and DNA being done? Is it possible to let your followers know what is going on [...]?"

She added: "Our thoughts and prayers are always with the McCann family and a safe return of their precious daughter."

A representative for Kate and Gerry responded: "There isn’t anything to report at this time. If and when there is, it will come from The Metropolitan Police."

Dr. Fia Johannson, a private investigator and self-professed psychic, had represented Julia during her search for the truth, and she further revealed news about the DNA tests yesterday (April 4).

Via the Mirror, Dr. Fia said: "She is absolutely 100% from Poland. She is a small percentage of Lithuanian and Russian. But the test results show she is Polish. Julia had all the birthmarks as Madeleine McCann, which I believe is God and the universe’s way of wanting us to get close to the man who sexually abused her, expose him and his possible ties to the McCann case."

The latter comments refer to Julia's claims that she was sexually abused by a man named Peter Ney, which she revealed on the Dr. Phil show.

"I believe that (Peter Ney) can be related to Martin Ney," she said. "Martin Ney was suspected in [the] Madeleine McCann case and Martin Ney is an international child trafficker, serial killer."

As per the Mirror, Julia has since returned to Poland to be with her father following the results of the DNA test.
