The long-term partner of singer James Morrison has been found dead at the age of 45.

As reported by The Sun, 45-year-old Gill Catchpole was found dead in her Gloucestershire home on Friday.

The publication reports that despite the sudden nature of Catchpole's death, there is not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her passing.

As of this writing, no cause of death has been confirmed.

A source close to the situation reportedly told The Sun: James is devastated and is being supported by his family. He is holding it together for their girls but has asked for the family to be left alone to grieve in private."

Catchpole owned a cafe, the Cotswold Sandwich Box, which reportedly closed on Saturday. Several police cars were spotted outside of the eatery.

Per OK, Morrison and Catchpole started their relationship 20 years ago, and welcomed two children together; Elsie in 2008 and Ada Rose in 2018.

Prior to Catchpole's death, 39-year-old Morrison - who is perhaps best known to fans for his songs 'Broken Strings' and 'You Give Me Something' - opened up about his life for his long-term partner.

Speaking on the chat show White Wine Question Time, Morrison revealed that he fell for Catchpole when she moved into James's mom's house as a lodger. He recalled: "It wasn't the easiest start, but I just still see it as a really romantic thing.

"I'm not very romantic. [...] But I do find certain things romantic and the fact that we met each other the way we did. It's like a little fairytale or something!"

The singer-songwriter went on to add that he would even "serenade" Gill in the corridors of the home.

Speaking of their "connection" over music (Gill's father was also a musician), Morrison added: "We just had a connection straight away really. But I had to wait like two years to find out if what I thought I felt was real."

But he admitted that the start of their relationship got off to a rocky start as Catchpole was in a relationship at the time she lived with his family.

James then confessed that he had "never felt in love" before meeting Gill.

"I didn't want to tell her that I fell in love with her the first moment I set eyes on her because I didn't know, I'd never felt in love before. So I didn't really know if it was that. So it was like a massive moment for me to even tell her that I liked her," he said.

Our thoughts go out to Catchpole's family and loved ones at this time.
