One UPS driver had proven that a little kindness goes a long way.

After taking the time to congratulate a recent customer on her newborn son, the universe rewarded Dallen Harrell - in the form of a promotion.

It all started when Dallen made a delivery near Jessica's family home, where she had put out an 'It's a Boy' stork lawn sign after her son's birth.

Later that month Dallen returned to Jessica's house and, remembering the stork, left a sweet message on her doorbell camera.

"If this is the ‘It’s a Boy’ house… I hope all is going well with your newborn," Dallen said, before wishing the family a happy holidays.

Jessica had been recovering from a caesarian delivery indoors for three weeks, and barely seen a soul. When she saw Dallen's message it moved her so much that she posted it to her Instagram.

The clip - which has racked up over 175,000 views - caught people's attention, with many trying to find out who Dallen was so they could thank him.

"Why am I crying?! This is amazing," one person wrote.

"Can we do a registry for this guy and his family?! So awesome!" commented another.

Luckily for Jessica, the video also caught the attention of UPS - who Dallen had been working for part-time to make extra money over the holidays.

"Every kind of delivery is worth celebrating! Congratulations to you and your newest bundle of joy," the delivery giants wrote.

But that wasn't all. UPS also reached out to Jessica and helped her identify Dallen, so she could thank him over the phone. When she did the new mom found out that Dallen was himself a new parent - but that he hadn't been able to afford a baby shower for his little boy.

"I asked him if I could post his registry because a lot of people wanted to help him and he was very touched by this," Jessica told Bored Panda.

With Jessica's help, Dallen set up a baby's listings for Target and Buy Buy Baby. When Jessica shared it online, she was instantly swarmed by people wanting to contribute.

"The wish-list began getting wiped out," she said.

Not only did Dallen get to throw his son a wonderful baby shower - he also got given a full-time job by UPS who were so impressed by his customer service that they gave him a promotion.

"This is one of many great examples of how our people are delivering what matters every day," said the delivery company.

"Dallen’s action was heartwarming, so we helped to connect the customer with Dallen and we also offered him a permanent driver job. We’re thrilled to say he has accepted!" they added.
