"Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

Suicide among young people is a growing issue
Unfortunately, the CDC states that suicide is among the top causes of death for young people and adults in the USA.
Shockingly, it is the second highest cause of death among 10 to 14 year olds in the USA and third amongst those between 15 and 24.
Suicide prevention site Bethe1to.com gives five steps to talk with someone who you believe may be contemplating suicide, the first being to ask them whether they are thinking about it.
Then, you are advised to listen to their answer and ‘help them focus on their reasons for living’.
Being physically and/or emotionally present for the person in crisis is another vital step, either over the phone or in real life, and helping them access a support system can help save their life.
Finally, it’s important to follow up with the person to check they are receiving the care and support they need or if there are other ways you can help.
