The family of Noah Presgrove, whose body was discovered on the side of the highway, have spoken out as new information about the teenager's final hours has emerged.

Last September, the 19-year-old was found dead next to the rural US 81 highway in Jefferson County, Oklahoma.

It is believed that before his tragic death, the teen attended a Labor Day party with friends, which reportedly took place a mile away from where his deceased body was discovered on the morning of September 4 by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper.

According to The Independent, Presgrove had informed his friends that he was leaving the party to go for a walk but couldn’t find one of his shoes so he took another instead. He was found the following day naked, wearing only mismatched shoes.

The Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Leonardo Roquero released the full autopsy report on Monday (May 13), more than eight months after the tragedy.

The nine-page report, obtained by PEOPLE, revealed more harrowing details on the injuries the teen sustained in the hours before he died, disclosing that Pesgrove endured a split skull, swollen and lacerated brain, and broken ribs.

It states that the teenager died of “multiple blunt force injuries” to the head, neck, torso, and other extremities. In addition to this, the skin on the left side of his scalp was torn off to the bone, and hair and skin were discovered in the middle of the highway.

Furthermore, other sustained injuries include broken upper and lower teeth "with few fragments and found inside the mouth" and others were strewn across the road several feet from his body.

How Pesgrove - who had graduated high school that May and planned to join the military with his cousin the following year - got those injuries remains “undetermined".

“The report answers some questions but also raises many more...I'm at a loss of words” his brother Dailen said after reviewing the report. “We’re still at square one,” he added.

According to the document, Presgrove "rode an ATV ranger vehicle with several men that had a rollover incident" at the house party before his death.

"The decedent was alive following the incident and returned to the party where he got into an argument," the report notes, which says the teen then left the party and wasn't seen again.

Dailen has said that there are "many conflicting accounts" of that night his brother died, adding: “With so much time passing, it seems that the stories are changing. Other times it feels that they are reading off of a script. It’s hard to trust anyone.”

As the late teen's grieving family waits for answers, they have set up a GoFundMe to raise money for a private investigator. As of the time of writing, $9,717 has been raised, exceeding the $8,000 target.

"This fundraiser is for raising funds to hire a Private Investigator who will be able to solve the case involving the death of Noah Presgrove. Private Investigators are very expensive," they explained.

"Between the many of us who have been eagerly working the case over the last 8 months, we have tremendous hours put into the case already. We are seeking new eyes on the case and preferably someone with law enforcement background and experience in this genre," they added.

Dailen said in a previous interview that it "doesn’t make sense that the investigation has been going on for so long, and there were so many people around, and, yet, there’s still so much uncertainty".

"And it doesn’t make sense that a good person like Noah is gone in such a cruel and unknown way," he concluded.

Our thoughts are with Presgrove's family at this devastating time.
