Family and friends of Gypsy Rose Blanchard have shared their concerns over her imminent release from prison.

The 31-year-old was sentenced to 10 years behind bars in November 2018 after her late mother Dee Dee Blanchard's lifeless body was discovered at their home in 2015.

At that time, Gypsy Rose - whose mother stated that she suffered from physical and mental health issues - was missing and presumed kidnapped as all of her wheelchairs, medicines, and equipment were still at their property.

However, once police officers located her in Wisconsin, they noticed that she didn't possess any of the lifelong psychological issues Dee Dee had described.

Watch Gypsy Rose's story below:

A police investigation followed immediately and determined that Gypsy Rose had persuaded her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to murder her mother at their home after she was subjected to years of physical and mental trauma.

Officials found that Gypsy Rose was involved in the killing of Dee Dee as she brought duct tape, gloves, and a knife for Godejohn to carry out the murder, as reported by The Sun.

She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, while her ex-boyfriend - whom she met online - was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Now, the inmate could be released from prison early as she's eligible for parole by the end of this year. Her family friends, Fancy Marcelli and Titania Gisclair voiced their uneasiness to In Touch about Gypsy Rose's impending release.

Speaking in 2021, Marcelli explained: "Gypsy has served 80 percent of her sentence. She’s supposed to get out in 2025, but I worry about what’s going to happen to her.

"She doesn’t want counseling, which the prison offers. She doesn’t feel that she needs any help. She needs better people around her," she revealed.

Marcelli expressed that Gypsy Rose "needs to change her behavior" before getting removed from behind bars, but claimed that she's "not open to it," because she is "still putting on a show for the parole board".

Her equally concerned friend also shared her worries, telling the outlet that she is afraid that Gypsy Rose's mental state from past experiences could unfold once she is outside in the real world.

"I knew Dee Dee. She was a master manipulator," Gisclair stated. "I was there. Gypsy always had various medical diagnoses. I never had any reason not to believe it. Now that I look back, I can clearly see all the lies that Dee Dee told.

"Dee Dee abused Gypsy. Her mother taught her how to scam, that’s all Gypsy knows," she went on. "We all want the best for Gypsy, but the problem is that Gypsy doesn’t think she has a problem. She doesn’t think she has any childhood trauma."

Gisclair noted that Gypsy Rose "learned a lot of bad stuff" from her late mom and that she's in prison today because she is "responsible for her actions," adding: "We just want Gypsy to have as much of a normal life as possible when she’s released. And that’s going to take a lot of work."

The pair also disclosed to the publication that several men wanted to be in a relationship with Gypsy Rose, but warned that they want to exploit her fame.
