Heartwarming video shows selfless builder paying for elderly man's meal at McDonald's
Those that live in cities, or even towns, pass by so many strangers each day without a thought. In the hustle and bustle of the rat race, it's rare that we stop and pay attention to those that around us, even when they're in need. However, there are some kind souls out there that have the sense to help out others.
In a heart-warming video shared to Facebook, a builder named Dave Love (yep, Dave Love) offered to pay for a pensioner's meal alongside his own order.
The footage, taken in a McDonald's, was secretly filmed by Dave's partner Melanie, who proudly shared the moment with the world:
"STOP SCROLLING, this WILL make your day, I was in tears. This man melts my heart. I had no idea what he was up to as he ordered his morning coffee but quickly realised and couldn't not video this incredible act of kindness.
"Your true character is revealed when nobody's watching."
In the video, you can see Dave offer to pay once he spotted the old man struggling to count his money. He even spots him 20 bucks and tells him, "That's for your next coffee". You can watch the interaction below:
"Oh and you wouldn't believe it, his surname is LOVE," Melanie's post continued. "He bought this old man's coffee, breakfast and gave him $20. Oh and I told him I wasn't videoing as he would've made me turn it off."
The post has now amassed over 35,000 shares and 12,000 comments, but for Dave it's just an average day. "He's a pensioner and he's old, so I paid for his meal and I gave him $20," Dave tells his partner in the video. "It is what it is, honey, it's life."
