A daring stunt by a content creator on the Las Vegas Sphere this week resulted in more than an estimated $100,000 in damages to the towering venue.

Despite the huge cost of damages, officials report that the culprit taunted law enforcement that he wouldn't face consequences for his actions.

Maison Des Champs - who has previously been referred to as the "Pro-Life Spider-Man" - reportedly caused extensive damage to the 366-foot-tall structure, stomping on numerous lights during his ascent as part of a fundraiser to help support a homeless woman "cancel her abortion appointment", the New York Post reports.

The Sphere - adorned with 58 million lights forming a colossal all-over LED screen - proved too fragile to support Des Champs' weight, according to ABC 13.

Matthew German, the Sphere's vice president of security and threat management, told authorities of the fragility of the venue's exterior, expressing concerns about the extensive damage incurred during the climb.

Des Champs, known for previous high-profile stunts including scaling the New York Times building and the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City, has a history of activism centered around anti-abortion causes. His latest stunt, reportedly live-streamed to raise funds for a homeless woman named Isabel, drew attention from both spectators and law enforcement, resulting in his arrest.

German also raised concerns to the police that the alleged livestream may have leaked intellectual property from the venue to the public.

While Des Champs claimed he intended to descend the Sphere after reaching the summit, authorities refused, prompting intervention to ensure his safe removal from the structure. Sphere officials are currently assessing the full extent of the damage, but anticipate costs exceeding $100,000.

Des Champs and three others involved in the stunt face charges - including destroying property greater than $5,000 and conspiracy to destroy private property - with a court appearance scheduled for February 12, one day after Isabel's scheduled abortion.

Despite his previous exploits, the police report stated that Des Champs allegedly expressed that he has never been convicted for climbing and that his legal team "will get him off this incident as well".

In August 2021, Des Champs made headlines by scaling the exterior of the Aria hotel-casino, a daring act of protest against Nevada's health orders amid the pandemic.

Just nine months later, in May 2022, he found himself in hot water again after being arrested for climbing the towering 51-story Salesforce tower in downtown San Francisco.
