A man who had been hailed as a "modern-day medical miracle" had tragically died after being struck and killed by a pick-up truck.

Back in 2017, Drew Kohn was involved in a motorcycle crash that resulted in him falling into a coma.

At the time, doctors warned Drew's loved ones that the odds of his survival were minimal - to the point where they considered harvesting his organs.

Speaking to WTLV-TV, Drew's mom - Yolanda Osborne-Kohn - said: "They would have harvested his organs. It was because of my faith that gave me the boldness to speak up and push back and let them know, ‘You’re not getting a toenail or an eyelash.'"

And the mother's intuition was right, as - after 244 days - Drew did finally wake up from his coma.

However, the then-23-year-old had suffered significant brain injuries and his family was told he "would never walk or talk again".

But, once again, Drew and his family never gave up hope. "Yeah mom, I’m OK," Drew allegedly told his stunned mother one day. "I love you, mom."

After years of grueling rehab, Drew could once again walk, with his loved ones saying that he "lived life to the fullest".

Tragically - seven years and one week after his was involved in the motorcycle accident - Drew was hit by a pick-up truck while walking in Jacksonville.

The incident occurred on July 26 on Collins Road at approximately 5:30PM, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has stated.

The driver of the vehicle later told police that he didn't see Drew. And despite calling 911, Drew was pronounced dead at the scene at the age of 30, the New York Post reports.

Despite grieving the loss of her son, mom Yolanda has revealed that she is "not mad".

"God honored my request, and I’m not mad. I’m not angry. I’m at peace,” she said. "I got seven years and like Hezekiah who turned his face to the wall, I remember sitting on Drew’s hospital bed and saying to myself, ‘Thy will be done.'"

Believing that her son is now "healed, walking, not struggling to keep his balance" in heaven, the mom added: "His arm is probably lifted so high saying ‘Thank you, Jesus!’ Drew probably has a football in one hand and a Bible in the other."

A GoFundMe has been launched by Drew's loved ones to help cover medical and funeral costs.

"Drew showed us what it looks like to walk by faith," the page reads. "He touched countless lives along the way pointing everyone he met to Jesus. He was passionate about helping those struggling with trauma and traumatic brain injuries, always giving them hope"

As of this writing, more than $7,200 has been raised.

Our thoughts are with Drew's family and loved ones at this time.
