The case of a Florida mother accused of engaging in sexual acts with her pet dog has seen new details emerge regarding the animal involved.
Reports indicate that the family dog in question is named Ranger.
The case came to light following a domestic investigation conducted by the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Malia Nummerdor, 38, was taken into custody on September 16 after her husband reportedly turned over security camera footage to local authorities.
The investigation initially began over a completely unrelated domestic matter when the husband set up hidden cameras throughout the residence to figure out who was taking money from a household coin jar.
Although family members were reportedly aware of the cameras, the husband claimed he discovered video evidence on a bedroom camera showing his wife engaging in sexual activity with the dog.
After reviewing the footage, the husband posted the allegations on Facebook and later provided investigators with full access to his laptop to inspect the digital files.
When interviewed by police officers on September 15, Nummerdor acknowledged her presence in the video but denied any sexual contact, claiming she was "just petting the dog."
Law enforcement noted her explanation did not align with the recording, and she was subsequently arrested and held on a $35,000 bond.
Following her arrest, Nummerdor updated her public Facebook profile, changing her display name to Mahh Lee Ahh while leaving her account accessible to the public.
Despite the severe nature of the criminal charges, her new profile picture attracted numerous complimentary comments from social media users.
Commenters left messages calling her "so so pretty", "beautiful as always", and "gorgeous eyes", while another user wrote, "you look pure and beautiful Malia."
The accused mother actively interacted with the comments on her picture, responding with "Thank you all" alongside three heart emojis.
Other users referenced her official booking photo, in which she displayed a broad smile for law enforcement officers during processing.
One commenter posted, "Think I'm going to have to start calling you smiley," directly referencing her expression in the mugshot.
In addition to her recent profile updates, various photographs showing multiple dogs have surfaced across her Facebook timeline. The presence of several different animals in past posts created confusion among social media users regarding which specific pet was involved in the alleged incident.
One image from August 2022 depicts two large dogs lying together on a tiled kitchen floor, prompting users to comment and ask which animal was Ranger.
The public nature of her page has drawn significant online attention, with users leaving a wide mix of comments ranging from dark humor to anger beneath years of standard family photos.
Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell expressed shock over the allegations and her reaction during booking, stating, "There are only a few times in my career that I have been at a loss for words. This is one of those times."
He added, "I simply cannot comprehend this behavior. No animal should ever be subjected to this kind of conduct, and you can be sure that we will take action when we learn about it here in Charlotte County.
"And then to smile in the mugshot? I don't know what there is to smile about when you've been arrested for something as disgusting as this."
