A petition has gone viral on social media this week calling for the Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Philadelphia to be added to the National Register of Historic Places.

For those who missed out on the significance of this location, the seemingly-innocuous business was catapulted into the public's consciousness after Democrat candidate Joe Biden was projected to become the 46th president of the United States by multiple news and media outlets on Saturday, November 7.

Per Buzzfeed News, in a since-deleted tweet, Trump also called for a press conference at the Four Seasons in the aftermath of the news about Biden, writing: "Lawyers Press Conference at Four Seasons, Philadelphia. 11:00 A.M."

Trump then took to Twitter to clarify: "Big press conference today in Philadelphia at Four Seasons Total Landscaping - 11:30 am!"

As a result of this, a number of prominent members of the Trump campaign, including former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, gathered in a parking lot of the Four Seasons Total Landscaping company to speak with news reporters.

However, in the aftermath of the bizarre event, many wondered if Trump had actually intended to book the Four Seasons hotel for the press conference, and had made a mistake when tweeting its location.

The hotel itself was even forced to acknowledge the confusion over the press conference's location when a spokesperson tweeted:

"To clarify, President Trump’s press conference will NOT be held at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. It will be held at Four Seasons Total Landscaping— no relation with the hotel."

Now, according to a report by The Architect's Newspaper, more than 4,000 people have signed a petition on Change.org to have the site added to the National Register of Historic Places due to its significance in the 2020 US Presidential Election.

The petition's description reads:

"Add Four Seasons Total Landscaping to the national register of historic places: We as a nation need to remember where the travesty of the Trump administration died with a whimper."

A number of signees have since taken to the comments section of the petition to share their thoughts on the initiative.

For instance, one person wrote: "The ineptitude in the press conference being booked here is the perfect paradigm for the dumpster fire on a train wreck of the last four years. [sic]"

Meanwhile, someone else added: "I'm signing because we must never forget the ineptitude, the hubris, the sheer horror of this corrupt administration because we must never allow [this to] happen again."
