Millions of people across the world have come down with Taylor Swift fever, to the point where some are taking sick days just to bag some merchandise.

For those few who are unaware - Swift, 33, has taken the US by storm with her Eras Tour, and she's set to do the same across the rest of the world next year.

Getting tickets for some has proved to be pretty tricky, but for those lucky ones who have got to see the tour, they probably had one of the best nights of their lives.

To demonstrate how much people love Swift, one woman called in sick to work simply to sit in a queue to buy Taylor Swift-related clothes.

Dedicated fan shares why she turned up to the concert in disguise:

Fans flooded to Cincinnati for the grand opening of the Taylor Swift merchandise truck, with some reportedly sitting there for over 10 hours.

As reported by WKRC-TV, the truck was due to open at 10:00AM local time, but fans were lining up overnight to be one of the first to get their hands on the merch.

Lauren Wisner and her friends were the first in line but had to arrive at 09:30PM the night before to secure their spot, meaning they were there for 12 hours and 30 minutes.

The aim was to pick up a blue crewneck sweatshirt and a special edition CD that can only be found in the merchandise truck.

"This is like our Super Bowl honestly, so went full out with it," Wisner said. "We have games, drinks, umbrellas, we'll be staying here until we get that blue crewneck."

This is where things get a bit bizarre, as the outlet interviewed two fans who had come from Louisville, and their faces were covered with a blanket and sunglasses due to the fact that they'd called in sick to work.

The pair had arrived in the queue at 02:45AM and told WKRC-TV: "I almost named my daughter’s middle name Taylor," which shows the level of dedication that these fans have.

The goal was to secure a grey quarter zip top from the truck, and the excitement didn't end there as the fan said that she had bagged tickets to the show this weekend.

Fingers crossed her work doesn't find out about where she's been this week - and it's presumed that she won't be wearing that grey quarter zip Taylor top to work... because that would be quite the giveaway.

As estimated by Forbes, Swift is reportedly earning $100 million from the Eras Tour, but considering how much joy she gives her fans, she deserves it

You've got to hand it to the Swifties, they are an incredibly dedicated fan base.
