Cleo Smith has reportedly told investigators that a woman "brushed her hair and dressed her" while she was allegedly held captive for 18 days.
Four-year-old Cleo Smith, who went missing on October 16, was found alive and well in a locked house in Carnarvon in the early hours of November 3 - just a seven-minute drive from her family's home.
Police smashed their way inside the property in order to rescue the youngster and bring her back to her family.
This is the moment Cleo Smith is rescued by police after going missing for more than two weeks:
Now, sources close to the investigation have shared with Daily Mail Australia that Cleo told police a mystery woman visited the house in which she was allegedly held captive by suspect Terence Darrell Kelly for more than two weeks
According to the sources, the woman helped take care of her, which included dressing her and brushing her hair.
Kelly, 36, was charged by police last week and is being held at a jail in Perth.
In a statement, WA law enforcement said that Kelly had been charged with several offenses related to the purported abduction of the youngster, including "one count of forcibly taking a child under 16," per The Guardian.
Police said the suspect has been taken to hospital twice since his arrest to receive treatment for some injuries. According to some reports, an inmate "beat him black and blue," and other reports claim Kelly had been self-harming.
On November 3, police forced their way into Kelly's home in order to rescue the little girl and bring her back to her family after she went missing from her family's tent during a camping trip in a remote part of Australia 18 days prior.
In a statement by Cleo's family, it was revealed that the family were "humbled by the love and support" they have received, from "not only our local community but the whole of Western Australia and across the country."
It continued: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the rescue of our daughter Cleo Smith."
