Social media users have already begun unboxing the new PlayStation 5 games console this week, and a number of them have been left amazed by its huge size.
Per PC Magazine, although the highly-anticipated console isn't due to reach stores until November 12, the unboxing embargo has now been lifted, giving reviewers, games journalists, and pro streamers, the chance to take the machine out of the box and share their thoughts on it.

"The PS5 is easily one of the biggest consoles I've seen; it stands a solid 16 inches tall and sits a bit wider than the PS4 Pro.
The left side appears to be flat enough to rest the box horizontally, but even that stretched the limits of my modest entertainment center. So, I simply set it on the floor."
Meanwhile, Engadget reviewer Jessica Conditt stated:
"The PlayStation 5 is huge. Standing at 15.4 inches tall and 10.2 inches deep, the PS5 looks less like a gaming console and more like a massive, old-school encyclopedia, but bound in bright white fondant and completed with a black display plate.
"To use a more relevant simile, the PS5 looks like a PC tower. No matter whether you store it vertically or horizontally, this beast will stand out in a living room."
The sheer scale of the console is a testament to its impressive hardware specs. According to a report by Euro Gamer, the PS5 boasts a solid-state drive, which has been specially-customized for high-speed data streaming, which has significantly improved its graphical performance.
It also features a custom AMD GPU for ray tracing, 4K resolution display at up to 120 frames per second, 3D audio effects, and backward compatibility with most PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR games.
However, you'll have to dig deep into your pockets to afford one. According to Tech Radar, the PlayStation 5 is set to retail at a price of $499.99 (£449.99), while the cheaper digital edition will cost $399.99 (£359.99).
