A couple who hail from the United Kingdom have completed an incredible home renovation project, after buying a derelict, run-down bungalow and transforming it into their stunning dream home.
Per Little Things, Jaime and Jack decided to take a big risk back in 2017 when they purchased a dilapidated bungalow in order to realize their goal of living in a highly desirable area in Staffordshire, England.
We've all watched home renovation television programs in one format or another, and so most of us are familiar with the considerable challenges and hurdles that those looking to undergo their own restoration projects are faced with.
Check out their incredible work in this before-and-after video of their home:For Jaime and Jack, the challenges were even greater: they had a toddler and had just found out that they were expecting another child.
The couple has also shared pictures and videos of their progress on their Instagram page with their 2,200+ followers.
Their remarkable appetite for the project meant that the pair invested as much as $80,000 into the renovation work, and committed themselves to take on the vast bulk of that labor themselves.
A video shared by the couple reveals the state of disrepair the building was in when they bought it, with rubble lining the floors and the garden area left untended and overgrown.
The decor was outmoded and the rooms seemed crap. Altogether, a lot of work has going to be needed to transform the house into a home for a family of four. And so Jaime and Jack got to work.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the couple discussed the process of renovating the house into the dream home it is today.
"We didn’t really have a plan when we started, we just knew we wanted to be the ones to turn this house around." Jame said.
"We had always wanted to live in this area, but could never afford the properties here. This was a great route for us to be in this location."
Thankfully, the pair had previous experience in home renovation, having purchased their first fixer-upper when they were in their early 20s. This latest project is their fourth turnaround.
"This is our fourth renovation but by far our biggest. We couldn’t afford to buy in this area so this was the best route for us to be in a nice village where our children can grow up.
"We have been renovating since we bought our first flat in 2014 when we were 23 and 24.
"The process was made more difficult by being heavily pregnant, but my husband worked incredibly hard until I was able to help again." Jaime explained.
The first 18 months were spent making small changes to the property to ensure it was more suitable for the family to live in. After that, in 2019 the pair began more large scale renovations, including but not limited to adding new bedrooms, another floor, large glass doors and much, much more.
Remarkably, per the Daily Mail, the couple's extensive and fantastically rendered renovation works have led to the house doubling in value from when they bought it.
And just look at the pictures, the end result is truly incredible.
A huge congratulations on the renovation - it is literally my dream home!
