Greta Thunberg tells Donald Trump to work on his 'anger management problem' over election tweets

Greta Thunberg has taken to Twitter to firmly flip the script on President Donald Trump, after the incumbent President took to the social media platform to make various remarks pertaining to the ongoing race for the White House.

Though both campaigns have previously stated their belief that they are in a strong position as vote counting continues in key states, Trump's Twitter account has struck a typically brusque tone as proceedings have unfolded.

Among these tweets came the message "STOP THE COUNT!"

This tweet seems to relate to allegations of irregularities leveled by the Trump campaign. Though as the BBC notes, they are yet to present any evidence of election fraud.

For her own part, Greta Thunberg saw this as the perfect opportunity to flip the script on Trump, using his own remarks made about the 17-year-old climate activist against him.

"So ridiculous. Donald must work on his Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Donald, Chill!" Greta wrote.

If it seems like you've heard these words before - that's because you have. Back in 2019, after Greta Thunberg was announced as Time's Person of the Year, Trump took to Twitter to respond to the news, writing:

"So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!"

While the president of the United States directing a verbal barb towards a teenager was a regrettable at best, Thunberg took it in her stride at the time, briefly changing her Twitter bio to read, "A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend."

Donald Trump provoked widespread dismay on election night when he appeared to declare victory despite key battleground states being too close to call.

"This is without question the latest news conference I've ever had." Trump joked.

"I want to thank the American people for their tremendous support.

"Millions and millions of people voted for us tonight. And a very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people, and we won’t stand for it."

Trump, 74, continued: "We were getting ready for a big celebration [...] and all of a sudden it was all gone."

The incumbent president later added, "This is a fraud on the American public.

"This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election."

Counting still continues in several key states as of Friday morning.
