Once we recognise a celebrity as being part of a particular trade, it's easy to put them in a box and assume that they'll always be there. However, much like the rest of us, the residents of Tinseltown often have career identity crisis; in fact, many of the actors out there have jumped ship to head into the studio and fulfil their singing ambitions.
Scarlett Johansson
Perhaps best known for her roles in the Avengers, it's easy to forget Scarlett Johansson launched a solo career back in 2008. The Lucy star's debut album was named Anywhere I Lay My Head and featured 10 Tom Waits covers and one original track. The record received mixed reviews from critics, but that didn't stop Scarlett from coming back seven years later in 2015 with a band called The Singles.

Robert Downey Jr.
It turns out Iron Man can do a lot more than just save the world. Robert Downey Jr. released his debut album, named The Futurist, back in 2004, telling The New York Times: "Clearly, I have some hesitation in being an actor who puts out an album. But after years of writing songs, it gradually became more real."

There's a chance you might be a little too young to remember Bruce Willis' music glory days. Back in 1987, he released an album called The Return of Bruno which featured nine cover songs and one original named "Jackpot". He released his second album If It Don't Kill You in 1989 and even dropped out of Ocean's Eleven to record his third album Classic Bruce Willis: The Universal Masters Collection in 2001.
Of course, we've all heard Ryan Gosling's beautiful singing voice in La La Land, but did you know he had a 2009 album called Dead Man's Bones? The actor reportedly set out to launch a spooky musical theater production with his friend Zach Shields, but it instead turned into a DIY album featuring the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir. Bless him.
Cara Delevingne
You'll probably know Cara Delevingne from her pouting catwalk prance and her roles in movies like Suicide Squad and Paper Towns. But did you know she sings as well? The English model made us all jealous all over again when she recorded a duet of Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) with jazz singer Will Heard and worked with Pharrell Williams on the song CC the World, used for Chanel's short film Reincarnation.
Robert Pattinson
Everyone was obsessed with Twilight back in the day, but Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen was made even more attractive when people realised that he had recorded two songs for the soundtrack: Never Think and Let Me Sign. In addition, Robert will be featured on the soundtrack for his upcoming movie Damsel.
Naomi Campbell
Yet another multi-talented star is Naomi Campbell, who released an R&B/pop album called Baby Woman back in 1994. However, this time fans weren't so accepting of the dive into music, with the album failing to pass number 75 on the US charts - but it did pretty well in Japan.
Ricky Gervais
Back in the 1980s, Ricky Gervais and a friend formed the British New Wave group, Seona Dancing. However, it turned out music wasn't Ricky's true calling with the band releasing two unsuccessful singles and vanishing. On the bright side, I hear More To Lose became a sensation in the Phillippines.
Jada Pinkett-Smith
When you think of Jada Pinkett-Smith, you probably don't think of metal music. nonetheless, this hasn't stopped her from delving into the world of music and joining metal band Wicked Wisdom. Shockingly, the actress admitted to the Metro back in 2011 that she received death threats when she joined, but still stuck with it.
Hugh Laurie
If you've ever watched House, you will know Hugh Laurie is a man of many talents. Although, did you know he has two blues albums to his name? That's right the actor released Let Them Talk in 2011 and Didn't It Rain in 2013.
