We can deny our voyeuristic tendencies all we like, but at the the end of the day, we're always somewhat intrigued to see whether our favourite on-screen coupling has translated into a romantic liaison off-screen. And I mean, it's hard
not to care - we see the same faces, day in and day out, on television shows, in of our favourite movies, on tabloids and just about everywhere on our social media feeds.
Now, while many of these affairs are clearly heading towards disaster, there are a still a few that are so perfect (at least superficially) that vast swathes of the internet, chiefly Instagram, choose to brand them as "couple goals". First there was Brangelina,
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, and of course, Chrissy Teigan and
John Legend.
But occasionally, as we learnt in the case of
Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie, things don't always work out. And 2017 was another such year for celebrity heartbreak. Take a gander below.
1. Chris Pratt and Anna Faris
The couple announced their separation after eight years of marriage in August of this year.

2. Josh Duhamel and Fergie
After being involved for 10 years, the pair announced their separation in September via a joint statement which read, "With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year."

Lawrence and Aronofsky were yet another artist and muse pairing that couldn't make it past 2017. They called it quits right before Thanksgiving.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd
After dating for 10 months, the couple went their separate ways.
Selena Gomez has since reunited with her ex-boyfriend,

5. Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor
In May, it was announced that the couple of 17 years had split.
6. Dominic Sherwood and Sarah Hyland
After dating for two years, the pair called it quits in August.

7. Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna
Despite being parents to Dream, Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna had a very public, and messy breakup in February of 2017.

Kylie confirmed her separation from Tyga in an episode of The Life of Kylie in August. She said, "There was no crazy fight. We decided, well, I decided, that I’m really young. I don’t want to look back in five years from now and feel like he took something from me, when he’s really not that type of person."

9. Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen
After being together for 10 years, the pair announced their split in September.
10. FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson
They'd been dating since 2014, and were engaged to be married, but things purportedly got too much and the couple broke up in September.
