What would you do if you witnessed a rabid animal attacking a loved one in your own driveway?

Well, when one doting husband found himself in that exact situation, he had no qualms about taking on the vicious creature and doing what he could to protect his wife.

Footage of the encounter, captured on a home security camera, has since widely been shared online.

Check it out below:

At the start of the video, the chirpy husband appears to be going about his day as normal.

"Good morning," he says to a jogger passing his home before placing a beverage on the bonnet of his car and announcing out loud that the vehicle needs a wash. This seemingly mundane scene is abruptly interrupted by a loud growl seemingly coming from under his car.

A bobcat suddenly emerges and proceeds to attack the man's wife. She screams in utter fear and tries to run away from the aggressive creature. The man runs to the other side of his car in his her direction and grabs the red lynx away from his terrified wife.

Holding the strange animal away from his face, he suddenly realizes that he's got his hands on a bobcat.

"Oh my god, it's a bobcat!" he shouts as the large cat continues to growl. The man then hurls the cat as far away from him as possible.

When a neighbor comes running across the road to see what all the commotion is about, he warns the woman to keep away.

"I'll shoot that f**ker!" he then shouts.

The video was originally posted to TikTok by user @keithmgeaux, however, his account was disabled for violating the platform's policies.

Capt. James Rowell of the Pender County Sheriff’s Office told HuffPost that the incident occurred in Pender County, North Carolina last week. Three other people had been attacked by the bobcat, he revealed.

In a Facebook post by the sheriff's office, it was revealed that the bobcat in the video was shot and killed and had tested positive for rabies.

As advised by Mayo Clinic, if you think you've been bitten or scratched by an animal who may have rabies, you need to seek medical attention to prevent the infection from worsening. The disease is often a fatal one so swift action is necessary.
