Incredible video shows deer enjoying blossoms in Japan’s quiet Nara Park

Sometimes you just see a video or picture online that is so beautiful you have to question whether or not it really can exist. This is one of those instances.

Stunning videos and images have emerged out of Japan’s iconic Nara Park showing a herd of deer peacefully relaxing beneath pink blossom trees. Honestly, not even Bob Ross could paint something this breathtaking.

Nara Park is a popular destination with tourists, and per Japan Guide, it is home to many of Nara's main attractions including Todaiji, Kasuga Taisha, Kofukuji and the Nara National Museum.

However, the park is also home to over 1000 dear, considered by locals to be "the messengers of the gods". The deer have become "a symbol of the city and have even been designated as a natural treasure", Japan Guide states.

(Dear crackers are even available to purchase around the park.)

And thanks to the docile deer and stunning pink blossom trees, the spot has also become a popular location for photoshoots.

Amid the ongoing pandemic, Nara Park has fallen quiet, and as you can see from the videos and pictures, the Sika deer who call the park home are now enjoying their peaceful surroundings as they relax under the cherry blossom trees.

There are thousands of reviews for the park on TripAdvisor, where Nara Park has also been awarded a well-deserved Certificate of Excellence.

The deer are a popular subject of many of the reviews, with one visitor writing:

"Make sure to bow at them, as they will bow back (usually if you have food for them). When we got the biscuits a lot of deer did run up to us, so just be aware of that. But they just want your biscuits!"

I think I have just found the first place I am visiting when all this has blown over - and the crackers are on me!
