A video has shown a news reporter narrowly escaping a crocodile attack.
The incident took place today when 9 News Darwin reporter Zarisha Bradley was filming a segment posing by the reptile, only for it to jump out of the water and attempt to attack her.
"Can confirm it's true what they say about giving a smile to a crocodile," she wrote in a tweet alongside heart-stopping footage of the incident, which she confirmed would be broadcast on air.

"It didn't smile back," she added in a subsequent tweet that featured her jumping away from the crocodile's open mouth.

"Bet that got the adrenaline pumping," one commenter wrote per News.com.au, while another said it could've been a "Darwin lovebite".
However, while this incident is amusing, it's worth noting that it could have ended very, very badly, as was the case for a 24-year-old man, who needed his fingers reattached after he was attacked by a crocodile while fishing at Mandorah, across the harbor from Darwin, News.com.au reports.
This comes after a 23-year-old man also narrowly avoided serious injury at the jaws of a crocodile in Arnhem Land, where he was grabbed by the animal as he fished on the Glyde River in April.
According to NT Police Watch Commander Siiri Tennosaar, he was fishing in waist-deep water when he was attacked.
"He was grabbed from behind by a 1.8 meter (crocodile) and the man held onto some mangroves and the crocodile for some reason released him and swam away," she said.
"So other than suffering some pretty deep lacerations to his upper thigh, he managed to get away with no life-threatening injuries."
Commander Tennosaar recommended that the man "go straight to get a lotto ticket".
Meanwhile, last April, a mom wrestled her son from the jaws of a crocodile after sticking her fingers up its nostrils.
