, replace parts or have the device repaired, is never an easy process. Contracts are needlessly complicated, things need to be ordered in and the person at the desk doesn't always know what you're talking about. According to local sources, the man was simply testing whether the battery was fake or not before it burst into flames. I'm not sure if that's a legitimate way of testing counterfeit goods or not, but I'm definitely not going to try it after seeing this.
Fortunately, despite how close the blast was to his head, no one at the scene was injured - though I imagine they were probably feeling a little on edge after the bright flash. Hopefully this was a problem with a fake battery and not something that can possibly happen with other batteries, although there have been
with smartphones in the past.
