BREAKING: Police are responding to a suspected explosion on New York subway line near Times Square

New York city police have said that they are evacuating several subway lines after a reported explosion in the Times Square area of Manhattan during Monday morning's rush hour. [[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/NYPDnews/status/940200522698706945]] It is believed that one person has been taken into custody while the blast, which occurred near Eight Avenue and 42nd Street is of "unknown origin". Any further victims or the extent of any injuries sustained in the incident are not yet known. Trains were reported to be bypassing the 42nd Street-Times Square station stop as a result of the incident. As yet there is no established motive for the attack, and while authorities evacuated several subway lines in the wake of the explosion, it is not believed that any structural damage was found, reports the NY Daily News.
