Caitlyn Jenner is someone who divides opinion for a variety of different reasons - a lot of people have plenty of opinions when it comes to Caitlyn Jenner. But while the general public seem to be pretty divided when it comes to the former Olympian, it appears that her family are as well.
The Glamour magazine "Woman of The Year" appeared in Cambridge, UK, on Monday, to speak at the student union. Caitlyn was promoting her new book and spoke candidly about her relationship with the infamous sisters as well as discussing her divorce from Kris Jenner and the impact this had on her life.
Caitlyn revealed that
Kim Kardashian hasn't spoken to her for over a year and admitted to feeling "bashed up" by the feud, which played out publicly on the family's reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Speaking at the event, Caitlyn said: "They don't want me in their lives, they bashed me pretty badly. It's devastating when your kids do that. It really hurt." Despite the heart-ache from the fall out, she remained close with the Jenner side of the family, saying: "My children are my life."
Caitlyn spent time talking to students about a range of different things including politics, trans issues and her 1976 Olympic victory. She was also happy to mingle with the students and even took time to pour herself a pint at the bar.
Talking about her trans experiences while married to Kris Jenner, Caitlyn revealed that her wife was aware of her secret life, but had "some restrictions on it":
"As far as Kris, when I met her I had to be honest. She was aware of it at the beginning, but she but some restrictions on it.
"I had my own little get-aways where I could go be myself. She knew about it, but I just didn't do anything around her."
However, she claims that this wasn't the reason that their marriage failed: "As far as us going our separate directions, it wasn't about trans issues at all. It just didn't work like it use to work."
Caitlyn went on to discuss the fallout, saying at her lowest point she considered committing suicide. "When Kris and I went our separate directions, I was thinking what the heck am I going to do with my life?"
"I was never going out. I was in total isolation. Am I going to sit here and rot in this house or do something? My children knew what was going on.
"I had four or five paparazzi cars following me everywhere I went. I thought, am I going to deal for this for the rest of my life? I decided I got to do something. At one point I thought about suicide. I really kind of reached a low point. But I thought I don't want to silence my voice."
While the Kardashians were close to Caitlyn for a number of years, relations deteriorated after their former stepfather slammed her relationship with Kris Jenner in her book, Secrets Of My Life. On KUWTK last month, Kim accused Caitlyn of lying about her late father, Robert Kardashian.
Kim said: "I have always had Caitlyn's back. But she is a liar. She is not a good person."
