At the end of last year, American Idol winner Carrie Underwood posted on Twitter to let her fans know that she had sustained some nasty injuries after a fall outside her home. At first, all she said was that she had broken her wrist - and subsequently had to have surgery to reset it - and had gotten a few cuts and scrapes in the process.
Later on, however, she claimed that she had up to around 50 stitches in her face.
In a post to her fan club, Underwood admitted that "There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up," adding that, "it’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life."
She went on:
"In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told [Underwood’s husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in."
However, just a matter of hours after that was posted, people began speculating that Underwood was lying about having stitches, as a photograph taken since her accident appeared to show her as her usual self.

"I didn't notice anything amiss on her face," Adrienne Gang, the other woman in the picture, told US Weekly. "Simply, she looked lovely. She was extremely friendly and gracious."
What's more, the star had obviously been reluctant to share images of herself after posting the statement, as this was the first selfie she put on Instagram following her announcement:

Some eagle-eyed fans leaped to her defense, however, and pointed out that all the pictures taken since her accident showed only one side of her face, and there was a possibility that the injuries were all concealed by clever camera angles.
Now, the plot has thickened further, as Underwood has posted a profile image of her face... and it still doesn't look any different to how it did before.

Clearly, something doesn't quite add up here. Underwood had led fans to believe that she would look completely different, having made a big deal of the "gruesome details" of the fall and stating that the "freak random accident" would "change [her] life".
Some people, once again, asserted that she had probably just had some cosmetic surgery, or that she had exaggerated her injuries.
"There ain't no scar," wrote one person on Instagram. "She just got her lips done. She is just another fake superficial celeb."
"See nothing to make a big deal about," said another.
But others stood by her, writing: "She didn't have a facelift at her young beautiful age. She is a Christian woman and doesn't lie. She fell she got stitches and she deserves as much privacy as she wants or needs."
Regardless of what did or didn't happen, though, we're just happy to see the singer back on her feet and making music.

"Last check up on the old wrist this morning," she wrote on the social media platform. "Thanks, Dr. Wurth and my [physical therapy] angel, Renee, a.k.a "Bulldog" for fixing me up! I'm good to go!"
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BeIscOiFMJN/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=embed_ufi]] Earlier in January, the country singer warned her fans that she's "not quite looking the same" since she injured her face and required 40 to 50 stitches. However, in a photo taken by a fan in December, Underwood looked practically the same, aside from her bandaged wrist. In fact, the fan stated that the star looked "amazing". And Underwood certainly hasn't let the scare get her down. Keeping busy during the recovery process, she worked on a new Super Bowl song, The Champion, with Ludacris. The single has just been released and according to US weekly, the music video will premiere at some point during the big night. It will also be playing during NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics in South Korea. Judging by her social media accounts, Underwood has been spending lots of quality time with her family during the festive season. On Saturday, the Some Hearts singer posted an adorable video on Instagram of her husband, Mike Fisher, reading to their two-year-old son, Isaiah. "Story time with daddy … learning about Noah," she captioned the snap. "And my heart melts."celebrity1 min(s) read
All Carrie Underwood fans know that the end of 2017 was a hard time for her, after the star revealed she had sustained some nasty injuries after suffering a frightening fall in November.
However, the singer has recently revealed that 2017 and the beginning of 2018 was much tougher than any fan could have imagined, admitting that she suffered through three devastating miscarriages.
The 35-year-old is a mother to three-year-old Isaiah and is currently pregnant with her second child with husband Mike Fisher, but revealed it's been a struggle to get to this point, in an emotional interview on CBS Sunday Morning.

She started off by discussing her much-publicized accident, claiming the accident changed the way that she saw herself. She said: "It was also a perception thing, because I look at myself [now] and I see it quite a bit, but other people are like, 'I wouldn’t have even noticed.' Nobody else looks at you as much as you think they do. Nobody notices as much as you think they will, so that’s been nice to learn."
Going on to speak about the first miscarriage, she stated 2017 wasn't what she expected, saying: "I’d kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music, and I have a baby. We got pregnant in early 2017, and didn’t work out. And that was the thing, in the beginning, it was like, ‘Okay, God, we know this is, just wasn’t your timing. And that is all right. We will bounce back and figure our way through it."
However, the Cry Pretty songstress' faith was seemingly tested when she went through another miscarriage in 2017 and then a third in 2018."At that point, it was just kind of like, ‘Okay, like, what’s the deal? What is all of this?'" she said.
The singer continued by claiming that she tried to not allow herself to feel anger at the situation, stating: "I had always been afraid to be angry because we are so blessed. And my son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing. And he’s the best thing in the world. And I’m like, 'If we can never have any other kids, that’s okay, because he’s amazing. And I have this amazing life. Like, really, what can I complain about? I can’t. I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid. Can I be mad? No.'"

However, when she thought she might have been suffering a fourth miscarriage, she finally became angry. "I got mad," Underwood told CBS News’ Tracy Smith, confessing that one of her most emotional moments came as she shared a cuddle with her son.
Carrie claims she thought: "'Why on Earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid? Like, what is this? Shut the door. Like, do something. Either shut the door or let me have a kid.'"
She added: "And for the first time, I feel like I actually I told God how I felt. That was like a Saturday — and the Monday I went to the doctor to, like, confirm another miscarriage. And they told me everything was great! He heard me."

Speaking about the future, the star admitted she worried her and Mike had missed their chance to have a big family but claimed they were open to adoption.
"We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older," she said. "In the meantime, we’re lucky to be a part of organizations that help kids, because our focus right now in our lives is helping as many kids as possible."
Thanks for bravely sharing your story Carrie.

Over the past few months, Carrie Underwood's face has been the subject on many people's lips. After posting that she now looked "a bit different" following a traumatic fall that left her with 40 stitches and a broken wrist, speculation was rife about how different exactly the beautiful singer was going to look.
"It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life." the Grammy Award-winner wrote in a post to her fan club. "In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall, the doctor told Mike [her husband] that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in. I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different. I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up."

However, after taking some time away from the spotlight to heal and spend time with her family, Carrie returned to the public eye looking better than ever before. And now, roughly six months after her freak accident, the country singer has hit the red carpet of the CMT Awards, the first red carpet she has walked since her accident.
Wearing a short yellow dress with a plunging neckline, the American Idol winner looked positively radiant. She was joined by her husband Mike Fisher, the former NHL star who she tied the knot with in 2010.
On the night, Mike gave his wife a well-deserved kiss and a hug when she won the award for CMT Female Video of the Year for her collaboration with Ludacris on The Champion. A well-deserved trophy after a tough year, you could say.
In her acceptance speech, the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer thanked CMT and the thousands of fans who voted for her, saying: "Thank you God for all of us who are lucky enough who sit over here that we get to do what we get to do. And thank God for you guys—the fans. You guys really are the reason that we get to do what we do. Whoever went and voted for anybody, just thank you for taking the time. It means everything."

Although the Before He Cheats singer initially kept schtum on how exactly her accident had gone down, she opened up in April. Speaking on iHeartRadio's The Bobby Bones Show last Thursday, she explained: "I was taking the dogs out to go pee one last time, and I just—I tripped," she said. "There was one step, and I didn’t let go of the leashes! Priorities! So that’s why my left hand’s fine. But I went to catch myself and I just missed a step. If I had fallen anywhere else, I would have been perfectly fine. But it was one step that messed everything up."
It's fantastic to see Carrie out and about and looking confident again. She proves that when life knocks you down, you just have to get back up again.
