American country singer,
Carrie Underwood, has continued to break records throughout her successful career. After rising to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol back in 2005, the 34-year-old went on to win seven Grammy awards, and sell more than 65 million records worldwide. She is consequently recognised by Rolling Stone as being "the female vocalist of her generation of any genre". However, her fans had reason for concern back in November, when a nasty fall saw her hospitalised with a broken wrist, among other injuries

In November,
Carrie Underwood took a horrible fall on the steps outside her home that left her hospitalised. The singer eventually had surgery for her broken wrist, and took to Twitter to joke that she would be "
be setting off airport metal detectors from now on".
While Underwood has been relatively quiet about the injuries she sustained last year, she posted an update to Instagram on Friday, showing an x-ray scan of the metal plate and screws in her wrist.
"Last check up on the old wrist this morning," she wrote on the social media platform. "Thanks, Dr. Wurth and my [physical therapy] angel, Renee, a.k.a "Bulldog" for fixing me up! I'm good to go!"

Earlier in January, the country singer warned her fans that she's "not quite looking the same" since she injured her face and required 40 to 50 stitches. However, in a photo taken by a fan in December, Underwood looked practically the same, aside from her bandaged wrist. In fact, the fan stated that the star looked "amazing".
And Underwood certainly hasn't let the scare get her down. Keeping busy during the recovery process, she worked on a new Super Bowl song, The Champion, with Ludacris. The single has just been released and according to US weekly, the music video will premiere at some point during the big night. It will also be playing during NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics in South Korea.
Judging by her social media accounts, Underwood has been spending lots of quality time with her family during the festive season. On Saturday, the Some Hearts singer posted an adorable video on Instagram of her husband, Mike Fisher, reading to their two-year-old son, Isaiah. "Story time with daddy … learning about Noah," she captioned the snap. "And my heart melts."

Underwood has repeatedly expressed gratitude that her fall wasn't more serious. Speaking to People in the latter half of last year, she said "I honestly don't know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful." The country singer and songwriter added, "I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way."
