It was all going so well, wasn't it? It had all gone quiet and we all believed we were safe... until now. The tensions between North Korea and the USA had seemed to have simmered down for a while, but now they have swiftly risen to boiling point once more.
It's safe to say that
and Kim Jong-un don't exactly get along. Ever since the American came into the Presidential hotseat, he has continuously been engaged in a war of words with the North Korean leader. Since his inauguration, there has been missile tests, threats of all out war, and playground style insults.
Last month, North Korea had issued a threat in which it claimed it would reduce the US to "ashes and darkness" in response to sanctions imposed by the UN. The threat had been issued via the state news agency, and also featured a warning to Japan. It was reported that the regime had been moving mobile missile launch pads in preparation for an attack.
However, it all seemed to go quiet for a weeks, until Trump turned up on his Twitter account to fire some shots at the North Korean leader's appearance.

"Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!"
While the tweet made the majority of us laugh at how petty the most powerful man in the world had become, it's safe to say that the insult didn't go down well in North Korea. But not done there, during his tour around Asia, the US president added more fuel to the fire by denouncing North Korea's "cruel dictatorship."

In light of the President's continued criticism of their leader, the people of North Korea have now sentenced Donald Trump to death, according to an editorial in its state newspaper.
"The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared [to] malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership," the ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun wrote.
"He should know that he is just a hideous criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people."

It's not the first time that the state newspaper has hit out a Trump during his term in office, and it's fair to say that the American President won't be on their Christmas card list.
During his tour of Asia, Trump flew to the Philippines where he claimed that he had a "great day of meetings and events", suggesting that progress had been made in opposing North Korea and their leader.
So it looks we're back on the brink of all out war again. In all seriousness - these are two grown men, so why are they playing with peoples lives like it's a playground argument? Lets hope that it's just a simple slanging match and we won't actually witness nuclear war.
