Piers Morgan is not the kind of person to keep his opinions to himself when it comes to controversial subjects. Whether it's in a newspaper column, an appearance on a TV show, or a tweet - if he has a passionate view to share,
you'll know about it. So it's not particularly surprising to see him make the headlines once again, this time to criticise Emily Ratajkowski's recent video.
Ratajkowski, an American model, first made her name by appearing in a number of music videos, including Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines and Maroon 5's Love Somebody. She made her professional runway modeling debut for Marc Jacobs at New York Fashion Week in 2015 and has only become more popular in the industry ever since. Before modeling she was a child actress, eventually gaining a recurring role on the Nickelodeon series iCarly before venturing out of the field as an adult.

Recently, she stirred up some debate after she was featured in a video from Love Magazine. As part of their social media advent calendar, she appeared in a frankly pretty strange video, in which she was depicted eating spaghetti in her underwear. She introduces the ad saying "I'm Emily Ratajkowski. Today is carbo-loading day". Beware, this video is not safe for work.

Then, at the end of the video, a truly bizarre quote from Emily appears on the screen, which reads: "I love pasta and being greased up in olive oil more than life itself!"
You've got to give them credit for originality, as I doubt many people have said that sentence before.
The 26-year-old also re-posted images from the shoot onto her personal Instagram, along with the caption: "Taking my love of pasta to new heights for #LOVEADVENT2017 the wait Is over!"

So how does Morgan figure into all of this? Well, on a recent broadcast of Good Morning Britain, he argued that the video was "not feminism", and instead is a ploy for the model to further her career. I'm not sure if many people are going to Piers Morgan for their definitions of what feminism is or isn't in the first place, but it seems a little obvious to point out that a paid appearance by the model was intended to help her career - as she is indeed a model.

Morgan also tweeted the photos onto Twitter, referencing a leader of the Suffragette movement for women's voting rights in the UK as he brought up the criticism again.

Now, Ratajkowski has responded to Morgan's criticism of the video, with a tweet that read:
"Lol never said my love video was a feminist statement. But now it’s worth saying that telling women what to do with their bodies & sexuality is actually just classic sexism. I can have opinions about feminism & also do sexy photo shoots k thanks"

Also in the studio with Morgan was model Nicola McLean, who shed some light on the matter. "It just makes me jealous because I've not eaten carbs for a while," she said, "but it is how a man takes it - whether a man finds it sexy or whether he doesn't that's absolutely fine, but it's how you're treated because you choose to do it".
While we're on the subject of Emily Ratajkowski's Instagram appearances, did you know that she was ranked as one of the
top 10 Instagram models of 2017?
