The body of missing actor Cole Brings Plenty has been found in the woods in Kansas after police issued a warrant for his arrest this week amid a domestic violence case.

The 27-year-old actor - who appeared in a spinoff of the Paramount+ neo-western series Yellowstone - was found dead after law enforcement were called to an address in the city of Lawrence where a woman had screamed for help last weekend.

His body was found on Friday (April 5) just two days after he was charged with aggravated burglary, domestic battery, and criminal restraint.

A warrant for his arrest had been issued.

According to a statement by Johnson County Sheriff's Office, deputies found the young actor's body in woodland around 43 miles southwest of Kansas City, Kansas.

Present at the scene were crime scene investigators and a medical examiner, however, the cause of death remains to be released.

His agent, Peter Yanke of Phirgun Mair Worldwide, said via Sky News this week that Brings Plenty had missed a video call audition for an upcoming project that was set for Monday.

In a statement on Friday, the actor's father expressed gratitude to everyone "for their prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole".

"I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole's heart and loved him," Joe Brings Plenty Sr said.

Brings Plenty played in two episodes of season 1 of 1923, a series which stars Harrison Ford. The show is a prequel to the popular show Yellowstone.

The now deceased actor also had roles in two other westerns from INSP TV, Into The Wild Frontier and The Tall Tales Of Jim Bridger.

His uncle Mo Brings Plenty stars in Yellowstone and is a cultural adviser for Native American issues on that show as well as 1923.

He had previously shared a flyer concerning his nephew's disappearance on Instagram, with police confirming that the family had reported him missing.

Earlier this week, Yellowstone actor Cole Hauser also shared a post on Instagram to help find the actor.

“My good friend @mobringsplenty nephew is missing. He was last seen on Easter evening in Kansas City,” Hauser wrote.
