Adele has been slammed for alleged "cultural appropriation" after showing off the results of her weight loss in a new Instagram picture.
It features the 32-year-old wearing a bikini of the Jamaican flag with her hair in Bantu knots, a traditional African hairstyle.
"Happy what would be Notting Hill Carnival my beloved London," Adele captioned the picture, referring to the famous annual London event which has been canceled this year because of the ongoing pandemic.

This caption divided fans, with many praising the singer's incredible weight loss and acknowledgment of her hometown and others slamming her outfit which they deemed to be an appropriation of black culture.
One wrote on Twitter: "Adele dropped that weight and said it's time for her cultural appropriation era."

"Dear white people, please just be yourselves and stop it for good with cultural appropriation. Adele the bantu knots were unnecessary. The Jamaican flag bikini top was unnecessary... Please just stop it," another wrote.

Ernest Owens added: "If 2020 couldn't get anymore bizarre, Adele is giving us Bantu knots and cultural appropriation that nobody asked for. This officially marks all of the top white women in pop as problematic. Hate to see it."

This comes after Adele was told she had "broken the internet" after she showed off the results of her seven stone weight loss earlier this year.

The 'Someone Like You' singer adopted a new eating and fitness regime following her split from her husband Simon Konecki in April 2019.
However, her weight loss was not just inspired by her split from her husband.
Adele has been trying to lose weight since her son Angelo was born in 2012, saying goodbye to sugary cups of tea, alcohol, cigarettes, caffeine, and all "spicy, citrusy, and tangy" foods.
This was done not only for her health but to protect her singing voice after she suffered a vocal hemorrhage the year before.

Per the Mirror, she told Australia's 60 Minutes of her 2011 vocal hemorrhage: "It's f***ing boring, but I don't think you take your voice seriously until you've [had] an accident. I'm frightened all the time I'm going to damage my voice."
