Adult entertainment star Angela White reportedly almost died while filming a scene, one of her co-stars revealed on a recent podcast.
The Australian pornographic film actress has had a decorated career in the industry, winning multiple awards and even being dubbed "the Meryl Streep of porn" by The Daily Beast.
Having studied at Australia's prestigious Melbourne University, White has also researched women's experiences in the porn industry. In fact, the thesis she penned for her first-class honors degree focused on the radical potential of pleasure in the adult entertainment industry.
Despite her talents in both academia and pornography, the now-37-year-old apparently almost died during an hour-long sex scene in 2013, according to her co-star Keiran Lee.
The 39-year-old Brit recently appeared on the Pillow Talk podcast this week, where he described the terrifying incident. "We were shooting content and… we were going at it for over an hour. After that, I'm like 'See you sweetheart, lovely day,'" he recounted (via The Daily Mail).
However, the scene reportedly had a disturbing aftermath. Given that his genitals measure a whopping nine inches (and are allegedly insured for $1 million... I mean, rightly so), White flew back home to Australia complaining about severe abdominal pain. "I found out two days later she'd gone back home to Australia. She said her stomach was hurting, and she had to go see a doctor - apparently her appendix burst in the scene, which could have killed her," Lee revealed.
The podcast host then questioned Lee on whether he believed his large, ahem, member was to blame, to which he responded: "I don't know. But listen, I could have killed Angela White on our first scene."
White herself has spoken briefly about her appendix rupture, without revealing too many details about how it happened. The actress took to Twitter in 2016 to comment on how a doctor had removed her appendix through her bellybutton. "They had to make an incision above my pubic bone and at my hip," she wrote, adding: "The scarring was minimal and the recovery was pretty fast (I did a porn expo 4 days after surgery)," per The New York Post.
The incident didn't appear to deter the duo from collaborating on further projects together. In fact, Lee was left in terrible pain during a scene with White after she experienced lockjaw, causing her to accidentally bite down on his testicular area. He has since described the scene as the single "most painful experience" of his career to date, The Sun detailed.
White first entered the porn industry in 2003, when she was just in high school - she identified as bisexual and felt that adult entertainment was a way for her to explore her sexuality with other open-minded sex-positive people, she told AVN in 2015.
Lee fell into the industry by accident aged 19 when one of his friends uploaded a nude image of him to a swingers website while they were on a guys' vacation. A couple then got into contact with him and offered him a role in an amateur movie. Since then, he's moved to the US and was signed by Brazzers, one of the world's top porn sites.
