Kim Kardashian is set to appear in the upcoming season of American Horror Story... but it's safe to say her casting has got a mixed reaction from fans.

The FX show's 12th season is set to be titled 'Delicate', and the long-awaited trailer has now been released.

In it, a group of women with bright white hair are seen in a circle chanting "Baby! Baby! Baby", before a creepy version of 'Rock-a-Bye Baby' kicks in.

Some of the actresses playing the identical-looking women are then revealed, which include Emma Roberts, Cara Delevingne, and - controversially - Kim Kardashian.

As the short teaser trailer ends, Kim is seen rocking a baby in her arms, with the series being teased to be "coming soon".

Kim's appearance in the forthcoming season was confirmed back in April, with Emma sharing a clip adding: "This summer… Kim and I are DELICATE", while Kim posted it with just an eye and blood droplet emoji.

American Horror Story is known for including some pretty exciting celebrity guests over the years, including Lady Gaga, but Kim's casting has left some fans wanting to boycott watching at all.

One commented: "Not them putting Kim Kardashian in the new season of #AmericanHorrorStory", while another added: "Nope, not watching this season of American horror story there's just something about Kim Kardashian I do not like and I see her face everywhere it's Overkill I truly mean no disrespect I just am tired of seeing her face."

A fan commented: "#americanhorrorstory @KimKardashian in my favorite show!! I'll skip this season. 2 of my favorite characters not returning", while one simply asked: "Why tf is Kim Kardashian in the new AHS?"

Kim's decision to take part in the show further ruffled feathers after she was criticized for taking part in filming last month amid the ongoing Writers Guild of America strikes in Hollywood.

Production teams and actors have all paused duties in order to protest for fair payment and promises that their services will not be replaced by AI-generated scripts.

American Horror Story was created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck and has been captivating (and terrifying) audiences since 2011.

As well as showing the spooky coven of white-haired women, the trailer for Delicate also sees various other creepy iconography, including a crib and a cradle, an egg, and a bird's nest, before Kim is left holding a baby.

Whether or not you're a Kim Kardashian fan, the upcoming season looks to be just as chilling as we've come to expect from American Horror Story.
