CJ Harris, who found fame on American Idol, has died at the age of 31 according to reports.
The singer, who reached the top six of the competition in 2014, was taken to hospital by ambulance on Sunday night after reportedly suffering a suspected heart attack. His cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
A family member told TMZ that despite being rushed to hospital in Jasper, Alabama, Harris tragically did not make it.
Harris had become a fan favorite after taking part in the singing competition and stunning the judges with his rendition of 'Soulshine' by the Allman Brothers Band.
Keith Urban, one of the judges on the show, told Harris after his audition: "You sing 'cause you have to sing, not 'cause you want to sing. And, I mean that in the deepest way. And, that's why it's so believable and real."
After impressing viewers with other soulful covers including 'Free Fallin'', 'American Woman' and Too Close, he was chosen by the judges as a wildcard to go through to the semi-finals after initially missing out on a spot with votes alone.
He made it through to the final six of the competition before being eliminated from the show.

Harris was raised in Jasper and began his musical journey at the age of eight after being given a broken guitar by his grandfather, who he credited as his mentor.
As well as learning to play the guitar, Harris also developed his skills on the piano and started singing in a church choir as a child.
Prior to appearing on American Idol in 2014, Harris had first auditioned for the talent show in 2010, and had also tried his hand at the X Factor and The Voice, but was unsuccessful on the latter two shows.
He told the Hollywood Reporter why he eventually gave American Idol another shot, explaining at the time: "I saw they were doing the bus tour and they were going to be 30 minutes down the road from me.
"I said, 'You know what? I'm going to give it another chance. I've gotten so much better, my voice has matured and my playing has gotten so much better. I'm 23, before you know it I'll be 33 and I want to give it another chance.'"
Harris had been working at a barbecue restaurant at the time he auditioned for the series, while attempting to forge a musical career on the side by recording an album, titled Small Town Boy, as an independent artist.
