Ana de Armas has revealed that she's previously been ghosted by men because her looks haven't always been what they are now.
The 34-year-old Cuban-Spanish actress made the revelation while promoting her latest flick Ghosted, which also stars Chris Evans, 41.
Set for release next week on Apple TV+, the movie is centered on the story of Cole (Evans) who falls head over heels for Sadie (de Armas), but then makes the shocking discovery that she's actually a secret agent. Though, before they can continue with a second date, the pair are swept away on an international adventure to save the world.
Both Evans and de Armas have been on the promotional trail - where Evans quizzed de Armas on whether or not she'd been ghosted.
During the clip - which was posted to the MovieZine YouTube account - Evans asked his co-star if she'd ever ghosted someone or been ghosted, to which she responded: "I have, and I have. I wasn't always looking like this. It's been a lot of years in-between."
The Captain America star then said he'd personally never ghosted anyone, but de Armas was not entirely convinced. Evans did say, however, that he would rather be the ghostee than the ghoster, telling de Armas that you could simply assume "they maybe changed their number" and tell yourself there was somehow some miscommunication.
He then said that at least with ghosting there was some "ambiguity" and it was better than the "slow tortured drip" of someone slowly fading into the ether. He said it was "much worse when the person just texts you less and less" as it meant "they want nothing to do with me and there's no mistaking it."
Many people in the comments section, however, were more focused on how de Armas could have even been ghosted in her life.
One person wrote: "Bro, how could someone ghost Ana De Armas?! [...]"
"At no stage in Ana's life I could [imagine] ghosting her," someone else added.
Others took the chance to agree with Evans' opinions on ghosting, with another user chiming in with: "To an extent, Chris is right being lead on is rough cause you only mourn after the final text anyway."
"Here's my thing with ghosting. If you used someone then that's pretty poor karma. But if someone simply can't take a hint then I think ghosting is a solid option. For me to explain to a stranger why I'm not attracted to them is hella weird and they need to work on stuff," a further comment read.
