Andrew Tate has claimed that he's been poisoned as he posted bizarre footage of his supposedly deteriorating health.

The controversial 36-year-old social media influencer - who found fame for his content on masculinity - has had a turbulent few months, having been arrested in Romania with his brother Tristan on December 29, while police investigated allegations that included sexual assault, exploitation, organized crime, and human trafficking.

The brothers were apprehended by Romania's Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) along with two women in connection with the same case.

They were held in a detention center for 30 days, and had their time in custody extended multiple times. Their appeals to be released had also been denied.

However, they were eventually released on March 31 and placed on house arrest by Romanian officials. The arrest was due to expire but was recently extended for another 30 days, meaning the brothers will remain restricted until at least May 29, while officials continue their investigation, per the Daily Mail.

Since being on house arrest, Tate has posted several cryptic videos and messages - including a Tweet where he apparently predicted that he will be shot upon being released.

"I prepare my body to absorb the brutal kinetics of piercing lead," he wrote. "As all other silencing attempts fail, and stage 3 approaches - I anticipate a bullet will be the chosen utensil of pacification. I can only pray and prepare. I will force myself to breathe the best I can. I promise."

Now, the former Big Brother contestant - who has denied all the allegations against him and Tristan - has alleged on his Twitter page that he may have been poisoned, saying he’d had an adverse reaction.

He penned in a now-deleted tweet: "Face swollen. Blood pressure is through the roof. Skins on fire. Hard to breathe. Some sort of severe reaction or poison. Only had coffee and water so far today. All appeared in the last 5mins," alongside a picture and video showing the severity of the issue.

Afterward, Tate's account - apparently updated through a third party - shared that he would not be taking medicine over worries that a doctor would kill him with injections. They also wrote that he has no allergies, and refuses to do anything in another message.

"Andrew is not allergic to anything," one post read, according to The Mirror. "This has never happened before. Has only had water and coffee today. Either an insect bite or some matrix attack insanity in his bottled water. He’s refusing doctors and is focusing on tea and breathing. Will keep you all updated."

"Andrews fine. Says that pain is part of life. He says the doctor will inject him with 'who knows what' and kill him. He's in lotus position and drinking tea. As long as he can breathe he refuses medical attention - so far so good. The question is where this came from," they added.

In addition to being detained as part of an investigation, the former kickboxing world champion is also facing a lawsuit from three women who allege that he raped and abused them.

As reported by Sky News, the women made these claims against Tate eight years ago in 2015, but detectives working on the case had failed to take them seriously before the case was eventually dropped.

The alleged victims had been working as webcam models for Tate in Luton from 2013, where they claimed that they were abused, poorly paid, and threatened to deter them from going to the police.
