Arnold Schwarzenegger has hit back at critics who have accused him of taking a private jet to a climate change conference.
The 75-year-old ex-pro-bodybuilder and former Governor of California is a known advocate for a healthy lifestyle and the environment, though, he's received some criticism for it lately.
It all started on Sunday when the Austrian Oak posted a photo of himself on a flight headed to Vienna, Austria, for his annual Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative summit.
"En route to @ArnoldSCI for this year's summit in Vienna," he captioned an image posted to his Twitter, which showed him looking comfy in a luxury flight seat.
Netizens on Twitter took to the replies to vent their frustrations, with one person even accusing the seven-time Mr. Olympia winner of taking a private jet, writing: "There is no climate emergency and all the private jets prove they all know it."
"This is a commercial flight - I truly hope you don't go around making things up to be angry about all the time. I don't want you to be that miserable," The Terminator actor responded.
Another person added that Schwarzenegger was promoting a climate change "hoax", saying: "How much do you get paid to promote the hoax?"
"Please don't make things up to be angry about. Just be logical," Schwarzenegger replied. "If anyone is paying people off to change how they talk about pollution, who has more money than oil companies? Are you acting anti-establishment while you do the bidding of a bunch of rich fossil fuel execs?"
"So that private jet of yours... running on solar power, huh? It's the hypocrisy that's pissing people off. Get it?" A further Tweet read.
"Once again. This is a Lufthansa commercial flight. Before you spend all day on Twitter looking for fake reasons to be mad, spend a few minutes looking in the mirror and figuring out the real reason you're upset. Work on it. Do the reps. Be uncomfortable. One day you'll thank me," Schwarzenegger said.
Later on, the iconic strongman commented on a Fox News headline claiming that he ripped into those criticizing him, writing: "Bogus headline designed to cause confusion and anger, the opposite of what news should do.
"A: It doesn't tell you the key fact: I didn't fly private. B: I didn't rip anyone. I corrected with zero anger and gave advice."
Someone cheekily responded with an amended version: "I corrected it: Arnold [Schwarzenegger] is ripped and flew to climate conference on commercial jet."
If the internet has learned one thing from this it's... don't mess with Arnold Schwarzenegger, whatever you do!
