Austin Butler's most recent role in Dune: Part Two has thrust him into the spotlight once again - and let's just say he's the talk of the town right now.

It has only been 24 hours since Dune: Part Two was released (February 29), and it has already garnered so much attention online.

Check out the trailer below if you haven't seen it already:

Not only did it take the title for highest-rated IMDb movie before it was officially released beating out big names like The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather, but it also started - and has continued - trending all over social media.

Part Two of the iconic franchise is set to explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides (played by Timothée Chalamet) as he unites with Chani (played by Zendaya) and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family.

Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

While the usual suspects are getting the attention they deserve for their roles, fans have turned their focus to Austin Butler, who has been praised for his portrayal of Feyd-Rautha in the movie.

"Austin butler as feyd-rautha will go down in history that’s an ACTOR baby," wrote one user.

"After people watch dune part 2 and austin butler comes online to see people liked feyd-rautha when they were hating on him and elvis at this same time last year," added another, alongside a GIF of a crowd cheering for an unsuspecting man.

A third even described it has his "best role yet" writing: "Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha in #DunePartTwo is arguably his best role yet. His presence demands your attention every time he’s on screen. A masterclass display of bringing a villain to life with unhinged ferocity."

Others also vowed to start a campaign to get Butler an Oscar for his incredible performance.

"Is it too early to start the Oscar campaign for Austin Butler as a Best Supporting Actor nominee for next year? #Dune2."

Speaking of Butler's transformation for the role, which included extremely pale makeup, black teeth, and no hair or eyebrows, both Chalamet and Zendaya said they were stunned after seeing their castmate in his full costume.

Recalling her first day on set in Budapest, Zendaya told CNN that seeing Butler in character filming one of his scenes "was quite jarring", adding that it was her first time meeting the star properly.

"I was like, 'Well this is one way to get to know someone!'" she said. "But it was also funny because once you get to know Austin, you see that he’s obviously very warm and very kind. From just five seconds ago, being this terrifying creature, and then being like, 'Hey, how are you? Good to see you!'"

Chalamet also had similar feelings about his castmate, saying his reaction to seeing Butler’s look the first time was "crazy."

The 28-year-old recalled meeting the Elvis star in a stunt warehouse to rehearse their epic fight scenes, saying he was both nervous and excited to work with Butler, especially "having to do it in a pretty aggressive way right off the bat."

"[It was] a lot of rehearsal. A lot of practice in LA, before even getting over to Hungary," Chalamet recalled. "But it was a dream."

Dune: Part Two is now available to watch in all major theatres across the world.
