Back To The Future stars Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd came back together over the weekend.

Fans of the hit movie series were overjoyed to see the two stars share a heartwarming reunion at New York Comic Con.

Fox, now 61, was first out on stage at the event. However, no sooner had he sat down than Lloyd, now 83, followed him out in front of the audience.

As the crowd cheered, Fox jumped back to his feet and gave his old friend a hug. The two embraced for a minute before taking their seats to chat about their time making the iconic movie trilogy.

Watch the sweet reunion here:

The first Back To The Future movie saw Marty McFly (Fox) accidentally sent 30 years into the past by his friend, the mad scientist Dr. Brown (Lloyd).

When it first came out in 1985 the movie was a roaring success and paved the way for two hit sequels in which Fox and Lloyd's duo traveled forwards to 2015 and then back to the Wild West.

Chatting at New York Comic Con over 37 years since they first appeared on screen together, Fox and Lloyd had nothing but praise for each other.

Fox said that "the best part of this movie was working with Chris,", adding that they had "immediate chemistry" when they first met back in the 1980s, per DailyMail.com.

Fans were overjoyed to see the pair reunited. One shared a clip of the moment on Twitter, writing: "Watching [Fox] hug Christopher Lloyd like this is so beautiful."

"This made me cry. Beautiful hugging each other," another tweeted.

Others fans were eager for an update on Fox's health. Just a year after the release of the third Back To The Future movie in 1990, the star - then 29 - was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's.

Fox opened up about how the disease affects his life and work in a 2020 interview with People.

"My short-term memory is shot," he explained, adding: "I always had a real proficiency for lines and memorization. And I had some extreme situations where the last couple of jobs I did were actually really word-heavy parts. I struggled during both of them."

At Comic Con, he touched on his health and spoke about the work of his charity - the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

"Parkinson's has brought people who are still coming in, but it's a gift, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. People like Chris have meant so much to me, and so many of you have too," he said.

"It's not about what I have, it's about what you've given me - a voice to do that and help people," the star added.
