Billie Eilish has revealed the incredible reason she once broke up with an ex-boyfriend.

Now, I'm sure many of us have had romantic dreams about our favorite celebrities. I can wake up in the morning, look into my wife's eyes and smile... and she'll have no idea I was just chilling in a hot tub with the cast of Charlie's Angels.

However, what happens when celebs dream about other celebs?

Well, in an exclusive pre-Oscars interview with Amelia Dimoldenberg, 22-year-old singer Billie Eilish has revealed that her dream about Christian Bale actually led to her calling it quits with her boyfriend at the time.

The 'Bad Guy' singer was joined by her brother, Finneas, as the trio started discussing attractive superheroes. This led to Eilish commenting on Batman - more specifically, Christian Bale's version of The Dark Knight.

"A couple years ago I had a dream about Christian Bale and it was at a little cafe in the sunlight, and it made me realize that I had to break up with my boyfriend," Eilish disclosed, prompting laughter from her older brother and collaborator.

The dream proved to be a turning point for Eilish, who found herself awakened (literally and figuratively) to the realization that her relationship was no longer aligned with her aspirations. "I woke up and I was like [gasps] and I came to my senses," she admitted, shedding light on the profound impact of her dream-inspired epiphany.

Eilish's romantic life has previously been heavily scrutinized in the public eye, particularly in light of her past relationships with older partners. Her relationship with the Neighbourhood's Jesse Rutherford led to backlash about their 10-year age gap and the pair called it quits after a year.

Prior to Rutherford, Eilish was romantically linked to actor Matthew Tyler Vorce, with their relationship marred by cheating rumors and eventual separation.

Despite the interview's playful tone, later on in her conversation with Dimoldenberg, Eilish did express frustration with the superficial nature of some questions she often receives during interviews. She specifically called out interviewers for asking if she's "happy".

More recently, Eilish also hit headlines for calling out Variety following the publication's November 2023 Hitmakers event, where she felt "outed" regarding her sexuality.

Venting her frustration on Instagram, Eilish called out the media outlet for prioritizing sensationalism over her artistic achievements.

She said: "Thanks variety for my award and for also outing me on a red carpet at 11 am instead of talking about anything else that matters i like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares stream 'what was i made for'."

Billie's fanbase, as devoted as ever, rallied around the star and filled the comments section with messages of support, telling her to "keep [her] head up," and that they are "always there for [her]."

Despite the ups and downs of her personal life, Eilish remains a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

Eilish is currently nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song for 'What Was I Made For?' from the Barbie soundtrack.
