Billie Eilish has opened up about her past, telling British Vogue that she's been sexually exploited as a minor.

The 19-year-old singer graces the magazine's June 2021 cover as she opens up about her abusive past - something she has never shared with the public during her rise to stardom.

The 'Bad Guy' hitmaker also admitted that sexual exploitation of minors is "everywhere", and is something that happens all around the world.

Speaking about her latest song 'Your Power', Eilish explained the story behind the hit, which highlights an abusive relationship between a minor and an older person.

Eilish told the publication:

"[The song] isn't about a single person. You may think it's because she works in the music industry, but that's not the case. It's all over.

"I don't know a single girl or woman who hasn’t had a strange or unpleasant experience. And men, too – young boys are constantly exploited."

The singer added that "it doesn't matter who you are [...] you can still be exploited".

"That’s a big problem in the world of domestic abuse or statutory rape – 'Oh my goodness, I’m the victim here?' say girls who are confident and strong-willed," the teenager adds, explaining how it can be "frustrating, humiliating, and demoralizing" for a person to realize they're being manipulated.

Elsewhere in the interview, Eilish opened up about body positivity - a topic of conversation she's been very open and honest about since finding fame.

She said: "Showing your body and showing your skin – or not – should not take away any respect from you. It's all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery.

"If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f**k it. If you feel like you look good, you look good."

Per the Daily Mail, Eilish's bombshell cover broke an Instagram record as it reached one million likes in just six minutes - a record that comfortably makes her post the fastest to do so in the social media platform's history.

The shots were taken by photographer Craig McDean, with the 'Everything I Wanted' singer looking incredible in a custom Gucci corset and skirt, along with Agent Provocateur underwear.
