Bradley Cooper has shocked fans with his latest transformation.
In the first look at his new Netflix-backed film, the Hangover star looks utterly unrecognizable - so much so that people can barely believe it's him.
The streaming platform shared some on-set snaps from the movie - which Cooper is directing and starring in - on Twitter. Titled Maestro, the flick will tell the story of acclaimed musician and composer Leonard Bernstein.
While Cooper didn't need to undergo too much of a physical change to play the younger Bernstein, in a few of the photos he can be seen portraying the musician as an old man - and the transformation is startling.
Many fans took to Twitter to heap praise on the make-up pros who had managed to turn the youthful 47-year-old actor white-haired and elderly-looking.
"Dang! He even has white arm hairs! Such attention to detail! Whoever is the makeup/hair person(s) on that film needs to win some major awards," one person wrote, while another agreed: "Give the makeup department the oscar now."
"This is literally Bernstein, not Bradley Cooper," added a third shocked fan.
Set for release on Netflix and/or in theatres in 2023, Maestro will also star Carey Mulligan as Bernstein's wife Felicia Montealegre.
In an interview with Variety, Cooper opened up about how Steven Spielberg was originally supposed to direct the biopic - but he pleaded with the famed director to let him take the reins after the success of his directorial debut A Star Is Born.
"I [told Spielberg], 'I always felt like I could play a conductor, but may I research the material and see if I can write it and direct it? Would you let me do that?'" he told the outlet.
"Steven has a lot of interests – he’ll just choose one thing and all of the other things will be on hold. I think he knew he wasn’t going to make that movie for a while. He was kind enough to hand it off to me, and that’s what I’ve been doing for the last four-and-a-half years," the actor added.
