Dean Norris has taken to social media to tell people to stop complaining about the rising gas prices across the United States.
The 59-year-old actor, who starred as DEA agent Hank Schrader in the hit show Breaking Bas, addressed the soaring gas prices on Twitter and said those who "love capitalism" need to "stfu" (shut the f*** up).
"You're not getting 'robbed' at the pump," Norris wrote in a tweet on Wednesday (June 15) to his 752.6K followers. "You’re paying [a] fair market price for a commodity. If you love Capitalism so much then STFU."
As of this writing, Norris' tweet amassed more than 7,400 retweets and 66.8K likes on the social media platform.
Norris' comments didn’t go down too well with fans and garnered some responses from people who pointed out that, due to his personal wealth, he's unable to relate to the struggles many people are facing as a result of increasing gas prices.
One user replied: "I love breaking bad, but a millionaire actor from Hollywood worth 5 million can’t be telling hard-working Americans who live paycheck by paycheck to just suck it up when you specifically benefit from capitalism. Please just stick to acting my guy."
Another wrote: "Easy for someone as loaded as you to say. [The] prices were fine a few months ago. Restriction of capitalism is what put us here."
A third user joked: "Dear Lord, please do something to stop having Hollywood actors and actresses tell normal working people how to feel about how things pay. Amen."
A fourth user commented: "Easy to say when you have a net worth of 5 million."
Per Fox News, Norris' social media post comes as Americans are seeing skyrocketing gas prices all over the nation.
According to the AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas sits at more than $4.98, and where Norris resides in California, gas expenses are the most pricey, sitting at an average of more than $6.40 per gallon.
The most inexpensive price for gas in the country is in Georgia, where residents are paying an average price of around $4.48 per gallon.
AAA reported that at this time a year ago, the national average was $3.70, and before this year, the highest national gas price average ever recorded was $4.114 per gallon in July 2008.
President Joe Biden announced in March that the increase in gas prices is due to Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
"Our prices are rising because of Putin’s actions. There isn’t enough supply. And the bottom line is if we want lower gas prices we need to have more oil supply right now," Biden explained.
