Britain's Got Talent viewers have slammed the family-friendly talent show after a contestant solved a Rubix Cube whilst set on fire.

Professional stunt man Thomas Vu - who has featured in Marvel's Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, TV series Daredevil, Ready Player One, Westworld, and Terminator: Dark Fate - appeared on the ITV show on Sunday night (April 16).

For his mind-blowing performance, Vu was covered in a fire-retardant gel before being set alight as he quickly solved the famous 80s puzzle.

The contestant left the audience and judges Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon, Simon Cowell, and Amanda Holden speechless and received a standing ovation. He even earned four "yes" votes to get through to the next round.

Meanwhile, those watching the talent show at home were outraged and took to social media to express their disgruntled reactions to the stunt.

One disappointed user tagged the BGT Twitter page and wrote: "Absolutely not on, setting yourself on fire, do not try this at home. Shouldn't be allowed...."

Another equally shocked person said: "Sorry but showing a man setting himself on fire on a 'family' show is not acceptable. Even with the mention 'do not try this at home'."

A third commented: "This was very dangerous should not of been allowed to do it." (sic)

A fourth stated: "Totally ill-considered showing a guy setting himself on fire whilst solving a rubix cube. No thought to the fact impressionable children watch this show."

According to The Mirror, a spokesperson for the program addressed the stunt in a statement that read: "Britain’s Got Talent showcases a mix of variety acts to engage audiences.

"In this case, it was made very clear on screen that this act should not be tried at home and the program was subject to strict compliance rules," the message concluded.

Elsewhere on the show, many viewers' hearts were warmed by 24-year-old ballroom dancer Nathan as he performed a routine with his dance partner Joanne, 28, to Shakira's 2016 song 'Try Everything'.

Watch Nathan and Joanne's audition below:

Nathan - who has Down Syndrome - donned a black shirt with sparkling crystals and matching trousers, while his partner sported a multicolored shimmery dress with black sleeves.

The pair earned four 'yes' votes from the judges and sailed through to the next round. Their audition captivated viewers, with many calling for them to win the show.

One user said: "Right if Nathan doesn't win Britains got Talent there will be riots."

Another penned: "#BritainsGotTalent that is what Britain's Got Talent should be about. Go Nathan."

A third remarked: "Nathan the dancer is FIERCE and I’m so here for it."

UK viewers can tune into the sixteenth season of the talent show every weekend.
